Love Music, Not Knives!
Tottenham Carnival, Bruce Castle Park
Saturday 20 June, Main Stage, 4 to 4.30pm
Urban music from E.N.V., Black Diamond, and Stallion Solo, presented by Kat
E.N.V, formerly MC Envy, smashed onto the independent music scene with his Brit Hop and Rap in 2008 and has been leaving fans begging for more.

“Educate, Motivate and Inspire” – these are the ideas that drive Black Diamond’s passion for life, and inspire her soulful music and love for humanity!

Stallion Solo’s roots are in hip hop, poetry and old-school garage/grime, rapping for his East London friends who have been stabbed – the way it is – real talk.
Best known for his antics on “MTV Base” and as a presenter on Choice FM, Kat is an all-round entertainer with enormous appeal up and down the country.
Flavasum is presenting Love Music, Not Knives! to highlight our work to raise awareness amongst young people of the consequences of carrying knives, and to provide an opportunity for musicians to get their message across, too. We have been helped to do this by Life Skills for Children (www.lifeskillsforchildren.co.uk), which offers training to assess the threat of someone carrying or using a knife, and of course, the organisers of Tottenham Carnival (www.tottenhamcarnival.co.uk), who have generously allowed us time on the Main Stage.
The Flavasum Collection: advance notice
We are organising a unique showcase of anti-knife, gun and gang crime plays, dance, performance poetry, music, film and video, photography and art at the Unicorn Theatre in London SE1 on Friday 13 November. It will present the widest possible range and depth of arts-related activity available to schools, colleges, PRUs, YOTs, local authorities, community (including families), third sector and statutory organisations that can be used to help change attitudes amongst young people.
Although we’re only in the early stages of organising this event, please note the date, and let us know if you are interested in coming: peter@theflavasumtrust.org.
Visit our website to find out what else we have been doing and if you have any comments, let us know. We are always delighted when people leave a few words on the Flavasum guestbook. It shows there are people out there who care! And of course, we always need donations to continue our work…

The Flavasum Trust was set up after Tom Easton was stabbed to death in September 2006. It promotes the use of the arts and creative activities to raise awareness amongst young people of the dangers of carrying knives or other weapons. |
